Three tips to quit smoking

You know too well the reasons why you should stop smoking. Yet despite your desire to quit, despite the risks and the cost, your smoking habit still binds you. I provide quit smoking hypnosis to people in their own homes. So many of my clients are quite desperate to give up and for good. It’s an intellectual decision to quit, but it’s a physical and mental experience to achieve this. People can become ‘stuck’ energetically and that can be disappointing if not depressing to some.

Here are three steps to get you on your way to being smoke free.

Empower yourself by making the decision to quit, it’s your choice, it’s your goal and you deserve it. Define the reasons for quitting to your self by making 2 lists, the first with all the things that you will loose when you give up. Secondly, a list of all the things you will gain once you give up. Do some research and find a method that works for you.

Make It Your Choice
To quit smoking because someone else wants you to, won’t work. It must be your goal; your decision. It’s OK if a couple decide to quit together, that works very well as long as they are 100% honest with their joint goal. You need to be able to move from, “I should stop smoking” to, “I choose to stop smoking”. Try this experiment now, say out loud, “I should stop smoking”, now say “I choose to stop smoking.” Notice the difference how each one feels. Does one not make you feel more powerful than the other? Empowering yourself is the first step and even the longest journey starts with a first step.

Determine Your Reasons For Quitting
There are many reasons to stop smoking. It’s important that you find your reasons. The most common reasons are:

1. HEALTH. To live a long life and be around the people you care about. (Fact: you’ll decrease your risk of dying in the next 15 years by about 50%).

2. Looking forward to a better future and to have the peace of mind from making such a positive decision.

3. To keep your family safe from second hand smoke and not to be a bad example to your children.

4. To save money.

When you quit smoking, all the above becomes reality and in addition to this, other unforeseen benefits start to happen too:

Your sense of smell and taste return.
You feel more energised and alive.
You will be less stressed, both physically and mentally.
